Setting up test site and site for project notes

By Marcia on August 5, 2022August 17, 2022

Last updated August 5, 2022.

Having selected the domain name criticalthinkingcap.com a few weeks ago, today I set up the subdomains test.criticalthinkingcap.com and projectnotes.criticalthinkingcap.com.

I set up the test site so I can learn WordPress well (I’ve been winging it all these years) while following along with some books and tutorials, and also start learning the WP plugin LearnDash, among other plug-ins. The basic subscription to LearnDash only allows one site license, but they will let you set up a subdomain test.themainsite.com for development purposes. I wouldn’t want my capstone semester (Spring 2023) to be the first time I’m using LearnDash!

This is the website for my capstone project notes (criticalthinkingcap.com being my capstone project). I plan to keep as detailed notes as possible so I don’t have to reinvent the wheel every time I want to set up this type of site. We’ll see how it goes . . .

Also these notes might come in handy if for some reason I need to explain or defend anything I do or did for the capstone project.
